Everything practices ask us
Grouped by what people actually want to know first. If your question is not here, ask it in an enquiry and we will answer it in the reply, before you have committed to anything.
Cost and packages
How much does an accountancy website cost?
From £1,450 as a one-off for a five page Practice Starter build, £2,950 for Practice Growth at twelve to fifteen pages with client portal and quoting integrations, and £5,500 for Practice Authority with a full location and specialism cluster. A £50 a month care plan runs alongside from launch.
Is the £50 a month care plan on top of the build price?
Yes. The build is a one-off and the care plan is £50 a month from launch onwards, charged separately. It covers domain and hosting management, software and technical updates, one free minor change a year, and one professional email mailbox. Cancel with 30 days notice.
Is SEO included?
No. Every build is structured for search and AI citation, which is not the same as running an ongoing campaign. SEO and AI visibility is an optional separate retainer from £497 a month across three tiers, with no contract. Plenty of practices take a website and nothing else.
How do payments work?
Fifty per cent to start, fifty per cent on launch, by bank transfer. For Growth and Authority builds we can spread the balance across the build period.
Timing and process
How long does a build take?
Three to four weeks for Starter, five to six for Growth, eight to ten for Authority, from the day you send your brief. Those assume sign-off within three working days at each stage.
Do we have to sit through meetings?
No. You send a brief by email or WhatsApp, we reply in writing, and you review in writing. A call is available if you want one, but nothing in the process requires it.
How many rounds of changes do we get?
Two, in every package. If something material changes and you need a third, we would rather do it than launch a site you are not happy with.
When is the worst time to launch?
The fortnight before the self assessment deadline. Accountancy has seasons and we plan around yours. September and the January to March period are when practices buy; that is when you want to be visible, which means launching before it.
Compliance
Will the site comply with ICAEW and ACCA marketing rules?
Yes. Every page is written against the ICAEW Code of Ethics and the ACCA Rulebook provisions on marketing, which prohibit false or misleading claims, unsubstantiated statements and disparaging comparisons with named competitors. We also handle correct use of Chartered and Chartered Certified, practising certificate disclosure, and the anti-money laundering supervisory body statement.
Can we publish client testimonials?
Yes, if they are genuine and you can substantiate them. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 fake reviews are prohibited outright, with penalties up to 10% of global turnover. Keep written permission from each reviewer on file. We will build the section; we will not write the reviews.
What about GDPR?
Client financial data is personal data. Your site needs a privacy notice, a lawful basis for the enquiry form, cookie consent before any analytics loads, and a record of processing. We build all of that in.
Technical
What do you build on?
A static build rather than WordPress. No plugin sprawl, no monthly security anxiety, and fast by construction rather than fast because someone bolted on a caching plugin. You still get a straightforward way to add news and guides.
Can you connect our practice software?
Yes. A branded client portal entry point for TaxDome, Karbon, IRIS OpenSpace, Xero or QuickBooks, on your own subdomain where the vendor supports it. Plus GoProposal or Ignition quoting links, a booking calendar, tax calculators and partner badges. What we do not do is sync your ledger or put client balances on a public website, and nobody should.
Will we lose our rankings in a redesign?
Not if the redirect map is done properly, which is the single most common way practices lose rankings in a rebuild. Migration with a full 301 map is included in Authority and quoted separately on smaller builds.
Do we own the site?
Yes. The domain, the content and the code. No proprietary platform, no lock-in, no exit fee.
AI visibility
What is AI visibility?
Being named when someone asks ChatGPT, Google's AI Overview or Perplexity to recommend an accountant. On many accountancy searches the AI Overview now sits above every organic result and names only a handful of firms. Being one of them is a separate discipline from traditional SEO.
How is it different from SEO?
SEO gets you ranked in a list of links. AI visibility gets you quoted inside the answer above that list. They share foundations such as clean structure and schema, but AI visibility also needs answer-first writing, question-phrased headings and specific dated figures a model can lift without rewriting.
Is it included or extra?
The structural work is in every build. The ongoing programme is part of the optional SEO and AI visibility retainer, at every tier including the entry one. We do not sell it as a separate line item.
